Thanks yet again to everyone for attending the meeting last night.
The Rod Barrett memorial ride on the 22nd last month was a great success, with over 50 members attending the breakfast and 30 bikes setting out on the ride. Your generosity (and that of a couple of innocent bystanders) resulted in us collecting $ 1295-50 to donate to the brain foundation. Well done, you. On top of this Martyn from Schmokin’ kicked in another $400. So with a couple of late donations the total came to $1795-50.
And speaking of Martyn and Schmokin, complaints by a minority of malcontents in Berrima about Schmokin’s outdoor seating and covered verandah and music has led to council considering an order to remove the outdoor seating. Obviously this is a major part of the cafe’s capacity and the loss of this would likely lead to the business losing viability and shutting up. I have written to the mayor on behalf of the club, and there is a petition to be presented to council, and I urge you to sign it, here is the link: https://chng.it/MCDgyTGyV9
Kevin Roberts called for volunteers to be marshals at the Historic Road Race meeting at One Raceway (formerly Wakefied Park) on 14 to 17 November. Participants will get a selection of flags and a free lunch, but unfortunately won’t get a five pointed badge or gun.
